Two warnings for you?

The Lenten season had passed away and now we entered in a new season two weeks ago, the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. But looking backward we remember that the Lenten season was a time for repentance. All of us is called to clean ourselves from sins because whether we like it or not we are sinners. We are sinners ab initio. We are imperfect by nature. So, in order to cope with this nature of us, to be cleaned and saved, the Church warned us that we gonna die forever if we are tough to repent our sins and accept Jesus as the ultimate savior. Jesus died for us in the cross. He saved us from sins two thousand plus ago. We gonna suffer to the eternal fire if we do not pay attention to the warnings of the Church.

That is soul matter. What about our situation now? Our situation having still alive. I feel I am already burned in fire. Is hell going down to the earth?

At this time, another warning we should have to pay attention; a warning that cares for our lives on earth. The group of leading scientist warned us with the existence of Global Warming. The earth is burning that is why we experience too much hot environment, extreme radiation from the sun, climate change, melting of ice caps in the polar regions, etc. These problems are now present and many people already suffered. The question now, do we have another savior like Jesus Christ to secure us from these major threats of our lives? In this story it is different though somehow it has similarities. Jesus Christ was not declared us real Messiah until he was resurrected. The people of Jesus time are hardheaded similar today. The good question raised by Ex Vice President of United States Al Gore his documentary movie, how do we respond if we heard warnings from the leading scientists? If Jesus Christ warnings was in doubt to the people in his time, the people of today are also in the doubt of the warnings given by scientists. And one consequence that is sure about this situation; regrets

Some things are predictable while others are not. We already have enough tools to determine things. But it would be a fool act if we still do things against our rational capacity to avoid it to happen. If the claim is out of clear and concrete evidence and coming from reliable sources there is no other rational thing you need to do but to believe it. Believe and take action because you are actually doing things that is right. After all you developed and you become great.

Lend your ear to the earth without interest

I was just surprised yesterday when I typed www.google.com in the web browser. I saw the new feature of the Google first page. It was something artistic that I ask myself, what is going on today? Only I found out that it was an Earth Day (APRIL 22) that is why the Google blended the beauty of nature. It was excellent to look at.

From that moment I stop and listen. You know what happen then? I hear some sort of sounds. It was like a whisper. I don't know where it came from but what I know for sure is that I heard it near to where I was standing. Of course I took already my lunch at that time. I really don't know where it was. The surrounding is partly noise though it was a library. So I look at the other people around to check whether they also got the same experience and feeling with me but they seem they did not. They were not bothered.

I interpreted the sound this way. It was like sound of cry. But who is crying? It was not the librarian but the earth is crying. The earth is burden with human activities. The humanity who benefited much of the earth resources is also the one who destroys her. She suffers from too much Carbon Dioxide, Chlorofluorocarbon,logging of trees, etc. yet more people do not know about it while some knows but do not care about her situation.

What's up with the weather? Abrupt changes in temperature, rising of sea levels, extreme catastrophic events, and all other things we suffer upon. Is Global Warming still inconvenient for you? Now is not the time to be deaf about it. You have to open your ears to extent that you can listen the soft whispers of the earth. Listen and believe because these are true.

Do you know why only few are reacting about this? It is because many people do not listen. How could they listen if almost all the time noisy music is always attach in their ears? They are fun of noisy environment forgetting that very fact that there is someone who suffers.

She is crying. Her tears could be giant waves of the ocean that is enough to vanish many of us. She is crying and she is also angry to us.

There is something we should have to hear. In order to hear it we should have first make some silence because you can never hear a whisper if you are noise.

Democrazy: The Philippine Democracy

Many scholars have puzzled with the kind of government that the Philippines has. This is because of the complex and obscure practices and laws in the system. Many practices that not anymore abide in the Constitution but still it continue. The lawmakers are the lawbreakers and it seems no one has the trust of the government’s capacity to serve. There are questions of transparency, accountability and fairness on the part of government officials. The state is so weak because it is controlled by the few. Elite individuals bind the state and control its operation. Patron-clientilism is very common that weakens the system. These and many other others constitute the present label of the Philippine Government by some scholar “The Philippine Democrazy”.

It can not be denied that election period in the Philippines is very popular. The different issues and scandals will appear in the media and fraud and violence is so rampant. Election in the Philippines is a competition not of qualities and credentials but of largest amount paid to particular voters. The government has nothing to do to stop such kind of happening because they are part of the evil exercise. Many are afraid to stop because the government can not ensure enough protection.

Church meddling is also common in the Philippines. It is one of the greatest counter-powerful against the government. Church leaders are very active in Politics that it was known as one of the greatest contributed to oust the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos. Cardinal Sin is just one of them. Governor Panlilio who was a parish priest but he was willing to relinquish his refutation as priest to serve in the government. He ran last 2007 election and won the sit. The Philippine system of governance is really crazy. It is the Philippine democrazy.

Yet the bottom-line, Philippine has never prosper and develop. It left behind by the neighboring countries. Poverty is still rampant all throughout the country. The supposed title known before was Philippines is one of the Tiger of Asia but here comes it became instead the little dog of Asia. It is crazy.

Thus, a teacher of mine defined the Philippine Democracy as the government off the people, buy the people and poor the people. This is the Philippine Democrazy.

Claimate Change: The claim of Climate Change is real

The documentary movie “Inconvenient Truth” particularly presented by Former Vice President of the United States is basically a global warning to hardheaded people who don’t believe the existence of Global Warming. I watched the movie and I found it very comprehensive and informative. It discusses the effects of global warming to humanity, and to all living inhabitants of the earth. I had also asked myself whether their claim was true. But it can not be denied that they have the scientific evidences and examples. There is no more reason to still ignore the fact that can never be twisted because in everyday life we also experienced the different signs of it.

Global Warming is here. And one of its impacts is the change of the climates around the world. The relocation of climates and abrupt changes of the weather are also manifested. And it created a lot of damages and accidents nowadays. Most of the accidents happened in the maritime travel. This is because of unexpected change of speed of winds with heavy rains. There are also massive floods that killed millions of people in Asia, longer drought that resulted great famine to some countries.

Thus, we should believe it. The truth is manifested in strong arguments and fact related evidence. The claim is true. Climate change is here with us trying to destroy our mother earth and our lives. We should have believed this before things will be late where we could no longer have the chance to get it back. The claim is true; Claimate Change.

Susteenable Development: Teens are the center of Sustainable Development

Since the beginning of the time that the world had experienced and suffered from the evil impacts of its machineries and technologies, leaders around the world are aiming at a wider vision that is utilizing resources for the development not only for the present but also for the development in the future. The idea of development without the expense of the environment was born - Sustainable Development. Governments, agencies, and other institutions and even individuals of the world worried about the condition of the earth and all inhabitants living on it is at risk. Some resources were rapidly diminishing with the latest and high technologies that the world has. Yet, not everyone acts to pursue such change.

Governments are the primordial operator in this activity together with some organizations and units of society. The group of scientists with Former Vice-President Al Gore in the United States is informing everyone to be aware with the Global Warming which is also a Global Warning through the great and comprehensive documentary film – Inconvenient Truth. It was highlighted the passive reaction of the majority to the fact-claim of many scientist concerning Global Warming. That people are still pursuing development at the expense of environment. Massive industrialization especially from developing countries that contribute much amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and creating a warmer environment, melting of ice caps in polar regions, climate change, etc. The development that is unsustainable.

Along with the passive reactors on sustainable development are the teens or young individuals. It can not be argued that teens are usually not really active in this matter because they don’t like serous matters. A friend of mine, a parish priest shared to me his disgust feeling against his fellow priest. His fellow priests are always reluctant to deal with the youth in their parishes because they said that youth are problematic and hard to manage.

Youth occupies the majority of the population in the world as reports had said. This means ignoring their active participation is waste of great resources. Thus, teens should be promoted and activated in order to help the course of sustainable development. They are important actors of change. It is engraved in the term sustainable “susteenable” development. Further, teens are capable of pursuing sustainable development.

The purpose of sustainable development is to provide well environment for the future generations. Teens or youth are one of the generations referred by this. Teens are the future leaders of the world. They are the next protector and developer of the world. But how could they do it if they were not yet motivated?

Thus, the era of recognizing the role of teens has come. There is a need to activate the teens to get involve in the solving problems and pursuing sustainable development.
